Strategically Attractive Sector
In 2003 Sverica identified the for-profit postsecondary education industry as a sector with attractive characteristics and conducted a methodical strategic search for investments. Partnering with an entrepreneur, the group formed Prospect Colleges LLC and made its first acquisition, Clarita Career College, a single-campus school.

Track Record of Aggressive Growth
Since that first investment the company has been transformed. Through a combination of green-field campus openings and the acquisition of Charter College, the now-rebranded Prospect Education has grown to become a seven-campus leader in several markets from Southern California to Alaska. Service offerings have expanded to include a broad range of allied health, business, and technology certificate and degree programs.

Focus on Quality and Sustainability
Prospect Education's mission is to put people to work. The group's expansion has been sustained by a focus on quality with a student-centric approach and continually updated programs, validated by industry leading student retention and graduate placement rates.

Active Partnership with Management
The Sverica team has been instrumental in taking advantage of the sector's strong growth potential. The firm supported a leadership transition with the 2006 hire of veteran CEO Michael Dawson. Under Mr. Dawson's leadership and with Sverica's strong financial backing and analytical support, Prospect has moved aggressively to capture markets with the flexibility to build or buy as needed. Today, Prospect is well positioned to extend its success through continued new campus openings and an ongoing search for high-quality schools to acquire.
